Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) is the Abu Dhabi power and water company that contracts electricity generation assets under long-term power purchase agreements and despatches them through its load despatch centre, as an Emirates Global Aluminium release of March 2022 describes. An EGA release of 27 November 2025 names Ahmed Ali Alshamsi as EWEC's chief executive, signing agreements with EGA, TAQA and DUBAL Holding on clean energy and aluminium decarbonisation.
