Privacy Policy

ınxen (inxen.news) is a business and economic intelligence platform for the Gulf and Iraq, registered in the United States. ınxen is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Questions about this policy, and requests about your information, go to editor@inxen.news.

Reading the site. Everything on ınxen can be read without an account and without giving us your name or email address. As with any website, our hosting provider receives technical data with each request — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — in order to deliver the page and protect the site against abuse.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, from which countries and devices, and how readers arrive. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address to derive an approximate location. We read these reports in aggregate only; we do not use them to identify individual readers.

Ask ınxen. When you ask a question we store the question, the answer and any rating you give it, so that we can check the quality of answers and correct errors. We do not store your IP address with the question. We store a one-way, salted hash of it, which cannot be turned back into the address and is used only to limit the number of questions per hour and protect the service from automated abuse. Please do not include personal or confidential information in your questions.

The daily brief. If you subscribe we store your email address, your chosen language, the status of your subscription (pending, confirmed or unsubscribed) and the time of each change. Subscription is double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link we email to you.

Messages you send us. If you write to the editors by email or WhatsApp, we keep your message and contact details in order to reply and, where the message reports an error, to record the correction.

We do not ask for, or knowingly collect, sensitive personal information, payment details or government identification numbers.

We use information to publish and deliver the site; to answer questions in Ask ınxen and improve the accuracy of its answers; to send the daily brief to confirmed subscribers in the language they chose; to understand, in aggregate, how the site is read so that we can improve it; to respond to readers and handle corrections; and to keep the service secure. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Where the law requires a legal basis — for readers in the European Union, the United Kingdom and other places with similar rules — we rely on your consent for the daily brief, and on our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving a free information service for analytics, abuse prevention and the quality review of answers. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

We use a small number of providers to run ınxen. Each processes information only to provide its service to us: Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery and security); Neon (database hosting); Resend (delivery of the daily brief and confirmation emails); Google (Google Analytics); Anthropic (the language model that drafts Ask ınxen answers from our verified records — it receives the text of the question and the records retrieved to answer it); and Voyage AI (which converts the text of a question into search vectors so that ınxen can find the relevant records).

These providers may process information in the United States and in other countries. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where necessary to protect the rights and safety of ınxen, its readers or others.

ınxen does not use advertising cookies. The public site uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits and to distinguish returning readers. A session cookie is set only for editors who sign in to the administration area. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on; the site works fully without them.

We keep information only for as long as it serves the purpose for which it was collected. Subscriber records are kept while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, all emails stop at once and we keep only a record that the address has unsubscribed, so that it is never emailed again by mistake; you may ask us to delete that record entirely. Ask ınxen questions and ratings are kept for quality review and are not linked to your identity. Google Analytics data is kept under the retention setting of our Analytics account.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses of it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent. You can unsubscribe from the daily brief at any time with the link in every email. For any other request, write to editor@inxen.news. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you, and we will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to our systems and database, and random, single-purpose tokens in every subscription link. No system is perfectly secure, which is why we keep what we collect to a minimum.

ınxen is a professional information service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has subscribed, write to us and we will delete the record.

When we change this policy we publish the new version on this page with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use subscribers' information, we will tell subscribers in the daily brief.
