NEOM is a giga-project under development in northwest Saudi Arabia, listed among the Public Investment Fund's giga-projects. The PIF page says it was established in 2019 and covers an area of 26,500 square kilometres; PIF's Arabic page says it is planned as a place to live and work for more than one million people. Neither page states PIF's ownership percentage. In a release of 11 May 2025, NEOM said its board appointed Eng. Aiman Al-Mudaifer as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer; he had been acting chief executive since November 2024.
