In April 2017 the Ras Al Khaimah Government launched the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) to oversee, regulate and consolidate the services, facilities and zones of the RAK Investment Authority (RAKIA) and the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone, according to the RAKEZ launch release of 18 April 2017. That release named Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi as Chairman and Ramy Jallad as Group CEO of RAKEZ, RAK FTZ and RAKIA.
Mandate: Its services, facilities and zones were consolidated under the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) in 2017, according to the RAKEZ launch release.
