- Staff could run approved workflows and build apps without developers, shrinking the technical team's role.
The latest
Employees at companies running Oracle Fusion Applications and NetSuite will be able to pull enterprise data, execute approved workflows and build applications from inside ChatGPT, under a partnership Oracle announced October 27, 2026 at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas. Four products were unveiled, covering enterprise operations, application development, cybersecurity and small-business setup. Oracle did not announce availability dates.
Details
- The core product: Oracle AI Workspace is presented as a single user experience combining OpenAI frontier models with Oracle applications, enterprise data and cloud services. Through ChatGPT connectors, staff reach information, complete approved workflows and take actions. Oracle says it links with Fusion Applications, NetSuite, Oracle AI Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- No-code development: Oracle App Composer lets employees build enterprise applications without programming experience, building through Codex while Oracle handles deployment on OCI. Oracle says it connects to OCI Kubernetes Engine and Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and applies identity, permission, network, audit and lifecycle controls.
- The new language: Oracle introduced APEXlang, a technology it describes as new and supported by App Composer for generative development, which it says avoids producing opaque application code — a recurring complaint about AI-written software that engineers cannot read or maintain.
- Security offering: Oracle AI Security Mesh is a managed service using OpenAI cybersecurity models to help customers find and fix vulnerabilities across OCI, other clouds and on-premises environments. Customers define where testing is authorized and set its scope, while Oracle manages the safeguards.
- Small-business pricing: The Oracle AI SMB Bundle starts free and provides 12,000 dollars in Oracle cloud credits annually. It includes ChatGPT Business, AI Workspace, Codex, App Composer, OCI and NetSuite QuickStart, which covers basics such as invoicing and cash flow. Terms, conditions and limits apply.
- Executive framing: Oracle Chief Executive Clay Magiouk said OpenAI is transforming how enterprises solve business problems, from chat to coding to analytics to autonomous agents. OpenAI President Greg Brockman said more companies are choosing OpenAI because using AI through existing tools is easier, and said the deal brings frontier AI into daily operations.
- What is missing: Oracle named no product availability dates, no customers by name and no pricing outside the small-business bundle, leaving the commercial terms of the broader enterprise offering undisclosed.
- Silicon news: According to The Next Platform, Oracle said at the same conference that Google TPUs will be available on OCI in 2027, the first time Google's AI chips run in a large cloud other than Google's own. The eighth generation, TPU 8t for training and TPU 8i for inference, was released in April 2026.
- More chips: The Next Platform reported that Cerebras CS-4 systems, each with 3 Wafer Scale Engine 3 Turbo chips, reach OCI in 2027, while fifth-generation SambaNova SN50 units were announced without a stated availability date. Nathan Thomas, OCI senior vice president and product head, said Oracle partners deeply with "best-in-breed" vendors.
Between the lines
Two announcements point the same way. By routing Fusion and NetSuite work through ChatGPT and App Composer, Oracle is moving the interface away from its own applications; by opening OCI to Google, Cerebras and SambaNova silicon, it is positioning the cloud as neutral ground rather than a single-vendor stack. Both bets treat Oracle's installed base and infrastructure, not its software front end, as the durable asset.
What's next
Watch for availability dates and pricing on AI Workspace, App Composer and AI Security Mesh, the first named enterprise customers, and whether Google TPUs and Cerebras CS-4 systems land on OCI in 2027.
