Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port on Boubyan Island is a planned container port whose first phase comprises a 1,200-metre terminal with capacity of 2.7 million TEU a year, with later phases adding 14 berths for more than 8 million TEU. Kuwait signed an EPC contract with CCCC in December 2025, and the port's infrastructure sustained material damage in a drone and cruise missile attack on 27 March 2026, according to the Ministry of Public Works.
